John was an amazing man. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, friend, mentor, and the absolute best stepdad a girl could ask for.

He was also a dedicated power red blood donor and ultimately a blood recipient. His family and friends would like to honor his legacy by sharing his story and encouraging everyone to become a donor if they can. If donating isn’t an option, there are other ways to get involved. Please consider hosting a blood drive, volunteering at a blood drive, or making a financial donation dedicated to blood services.

We have already made a difference since losing John last year. There have been two blood drives organized in his name, a race in his honor to raise awareness about the importance of blood donations, and his beautiful niece, Cassidy Miller even made a career change by becoming a phlebotomist and now works for the American Red Cross.
